We had the pleasure of welcoming Antoni Vera, Regional Minister for Education and Universities of the Government of the Balearic Islands, to our premises. He came to see for himself the work we are doing alongside the three vocational training students who are currently part of Lum Magnetic.
During the visit, we were also joined by María Isabel Salas, Director General of Vocational Training, who explained that these initiatives receive “financial support amounting to a certain percentage of euros for each hour that a student registered with the Social Security is employed”, a measure that promotes training and the integration of young people into the workforce.
Our manager, Manuel de los Santos, highlighted the value of this model: “We are committed to training and ensuring that the people doing work placements with us have the option to continue.” He also emphasised a reality of the sector: “It is not easy to find qualified professionals”, which is why he considers it essential to “train technicians here, on the island”.
At Lum Magnetic, we’re clear on this: talent isn’t just sought… it’s also built.
